Why do Furnaces break down?
The maintenance and age of your furnace has a lot to do with how long it will work. If properly maintained your furnace should last 20-25 years. Sometimes parts get worn out from daily wear and tear but breakdowns can be reduced by yearly maintenance.
How you can help prevent a break down
- Be sure to check and replace your filter as recommended (every 1-3 months)
- Change thermostat batteries yearly
- Do not store or stack anything on top of or directly beside your furnace
- Have furnace maintenance performed by a professional yearly
